The Faridunhill Pipe Encyclopedia
The Record
Dating guides and brand histories written from the primary record — makers' catalogues, hallmark charts, period newspapers, and the makers' own recorded words. Every dating claim carries its source and an honest bracket. When we learn better, the entry changes and the changelog says so.
How We Work
Whatever your pipe's situation — worn stamps, a missing shape number, no nomenclature at all — bring it. Nobody leaves empty-handed: we will do our best to date it, and you will get the most honest answer we can give.
Behind that promise sits a method: wide brackets over guesses, disputed facts carrying both sources, and each entry ending with what we don'tyet know — published deliberately, because an honest gap invites the collector who can close it.

The Shelf Grows
New entries publish on a regular rhythm, each one built the same way: from the dating cabinets we maintain on every major maker, fed by our growing reference archive of catalogues, period advertisements, hallmark charts, and recorded interviews with the people who made the pipes. If a subject matters to your collection, ask — the queue listens. Write to us.
