THE SHAPE
A bulldog is a compact, strong shape: the bowl narrows toward the rim, a ring is cut around its widest part, and the shank is diamond-shaped, with flat faces that meet at sharp edges. This pipe has that diamond shank and two cut lines circling the bowl, under a reddish stain on the smooth briar. As noted when the pipe came in, it has a metal tenon with a cooler stinger, a metal tube that reaches into the shank; one photograph shows the stem out with the stinger in place.

Condition: pre-smoked, in good condition, with faint scratches in the stain around the briar. Please see the photographs.
