SENATOR in capitals, with real briar in small letters beneath it, on the shank of an unsmoked vintage billiard in a sandblast finish. It is a straight pipe on a vulcanite saddle stem with a fishtail mouthpiece, and it takes no filter.
The pipe is unsmoked. SENATOR is clear in the stamp, while the real briar line is faint. An L logo sits on the stem.
THE MARKS
- SENATOR in capitals, stamped on the shank
- real briar in small letters, stamped under it (faint)
The stamps carry no year, so no date can be given for this pipe.
A billiard has a bowl shaped like a cylinder, set on a shank that runs straight to the stem, and this one is straight from the bowl to the mouthpiece. A saddle stem steps down from the shank to a thinner bit; this one ends in a fishtail. The bowl stands 47 mm high and 35 mm wide, with a chamber 40 mm deep and 20 mm across.
The sandblast covers the bowl, the rim and the shank.
