SECONDA is stamped on the smooth underside of this deeply rusticated bent billiard. The textured bowl and shank carry a repeating pattern of raised forms and dark recesses, with warmer brown colour along the higher surfaces. A curved black saddle stem completes the profile.

THE SHAPE AND SURFACE
The billiard bowl rises above a rounded heel, and the shank curves upward into the stem. The rustication extends around the bowl and along the shank, leaving a smoother underside for the stamp. In the side photographs the repeated raised pattern is clearly visible; the front and rear views show how it continues around the circumference rather than appearing only on a single panel.
The contrast is between the worked surface of the stummel and the plain black line of the mouthpiece. It is a finish that reads through relief and shadow: the individual hollows remain dark while the higher areas show the warmer stain. The photographs document the depth and character of the carving on this particular pipe.
THE STEM AND FITTING
The stem is recorded as vulcanite, with a saddle profile and a fishtail bit. Its thicker base meets the shank before stepping down to the curved mouthpiece. A 9mm filter fitting is recorded.
