About this Piece
GENUINE BRIAR inside an oval on the shank: this is a straight billiard in a rustic silk-brush finish, on an acrylic tapered stem with a fishtail mouthpiece.
It takes no filter. A twisted metal spiral insert is fitted to the tenon of the stem.
THE MARKS
- GENUINE BRIAR in capitals inside an oval, stamped on the shank
GENUINE BRIAR describes the wood rather than naming a maker, and no maker is known for this pipe. No date is given for it.
The billiard is the classic pipe shape: a bowl shaped like a cylinder on a straight shank. This bowl is 49 mm high and 38 mm wide around a chamber 20 mm across and 44 mm deep, and the pipe is 158 mm long. The acrylic stem tapers from the shank to the fishtail mouthpiece.
The rustic silk-brush finish covers the bowl in fine lines; the shank around the stamp is smoother.
Condition: pre-smoked, in very good condition.
