Radford 503 Smooth Straight Billiard Pipe, Vulcanite Fishtail Stem, 9mm Filter

Radford in Old English letters, with 503 on the shank: this is a Radford 503, a smooth straight billiard with a thin light acrylic band, a vulcanite tapered stem and a fishtail mouthpiece, made for a 9 mm filter.

The Radford name sits on the left side of the shank, with a looped stroke after its last letter, and 503 is on the shank as well.

Here the bowl rises upright from a straight shank, the plan of every billiard. A thin, light-coloured acrylic band sits between the shank and the stem.

The vulcanite stem is a tapered one: it narrows evenly toward the mouthpiece, with no step, and ends in a fishtail, a bit that widens and flattens at the tip.

The finish is smooth and glossy on the bowl and the shank, and grain lines show across the bowl.
