Peter Klein Denmark Grade B Sandblasted Pot Estate Pipe

PETER KLEIN, DENMARK and a large letter B on a smooth part of the shank: this is a sandblasted Peter Klein pot, made in Denmark and stamped with the grade letter B.

The pipe is straight. The bowl has straight sides and a flat top, the pot shape, and the rim is left smooth while the blast covers the bowl and the shank. A smooth band closes the end of the shank, and the saddle stem steps down to a flat bit. Please see the photos for the condition.

THE MARKS

- PETER KLEIN, stamped on the shank (the P faint)
- DENMARK, under it
- B, under it

A pot has straight walls and a flat top, and its bowl looks short and broad beside a billiard. On this pipe the finish is a sandblast. A blast takes away the softer wood and leaves the harder growth rings standing as ridges, and those ridges show across the walls of this bowl. The smooth rim, the smooth stamp panel and the smooth band at the shank end are left out of the blast.

The B is stamped as a grade letter. No date is given for this pipe.
