BRUYERE Dublin Shape#23 Smooth Estate Pipe 1950s

The BRUYERE stamp reads as a house name, not a maker - this pipe was made FOR BRUYERE, a shop in Bruges, Belgium, founded in 1912. The shape is a Dublin, the classic straight-sided bowl with a rounded base, popular in the 1950s. The briar is smooth, with no sandblast or rustication, and the finish is a light colour that has not been darkened or stained. The stem is a light-coloured vulcanite, with a fishtail mouthpiece and no filter. This pipe was made before the 1960s, when Bruyere began stamping the year on their pipes. The dating verdict is 1950s. The BRUYERE stamp is the only marking on the pipe, and it is not accompanied by a country code or a grade indicator. Condition: rim darkened, light scratches around the briar, no cracks or repairs seen. The pipe has never been smoked, with no cake or char in the chamber.
