John Brumfit is stamped within an oval on this smooth, slightly bent Rhodesian estate pipe. The dark reddish-brown bowl shows visible grain, with a defined shoulder below the narrower upper section. A gently curved black saddle mouthpiece follows the shank, separated from it by a narrow bright collar.
The broad lower bowl and rounded heel contrast with the angled upper outline. Side, underside and overhead views show the grain, smooth rim and chamber opening. The separated-stem photograph records the fitting beside the bowl.
THE MARKS
John Brumfit, within an oval. The intake records the number 315; the supplied stamp close-up clearly documents the name. No manufacturing date is established for this individual example.
THE STEM AND FITTING
The intake records a acrylic saddle stem, 9mm filter fitting and fishtail bit. The photographs document the mouthpiece profile, bit and stem joint. A fitting specification does not promise a supplied filter.
CONDITION
Pre-smoked and in very good condition. Farid records fading stain and scratches around the briar. The chamber, rim, bowl sides, underside and mouthpiece are shown from several angles. Please examine the photographs together to judge the individual finish and signs of handling.
