High-Quality Sandblast Billiard, Triangle Shank, Brass Band, Fishtail Stem

This large billiard wears a high-quality sandblast: the eye reads it as a texture, yet to the touch it is gentle, almost like a smooth finish. A smooth rim, a triangular shank and a thin brass band complete the look.

It has a vulcanite tapered stem with a fishtail mouthpiece and no filter. The nomenclature is completely faded, so the pipe is offered without a maker's name.

THE MARKS

- No readable stamp: the nomenclature is completely faded.

A billiard bowl has straight, upright walls, like a short cylinder, and meets the shank at about a right angle. On this pipe the bowl is a large one, and its rim is left smooth, a clean ring above the blasted walls. A smooth patch also shows on the underside of the bowl.

The shank is triangular rather than round. A thin brass band rings the end of the shank next to the stem. The vulcanite stem tapers toward the mouthpiece, and the mouthpiece is a fishtail, broad and thin at the tip.

Condition: pre-smoked, in very good condition.
