Golden Leaf 1202 Smooth Bent Billiard Pipe - Made in China

GOLDEN LEAF, 1202, MADE IN CHINA - the marks give this reddish smooth bent billiard its name, number and country of manufacture. A black vulcanite tapered stem follows the bend and ends in a fishtail bit. The pipe is pre-smoked, in good condition.

The bent billiard preserves the upright, rounded bowl of the billiard family while lifting the shank into a curved mouthpiece. Here the contrast is between the warm reddish wood and the plain black stem. The pipe measures 155 mm long and weighs 35 g.

The country mark is recorded directly. The number 1202 is part of the pipe's identification; no manufacturing year or named workshop is inferred from it.

The smooth finish leaves the grain visible beneath the reddish surface. There is no carved relief or sandblast texture: the rounded contours of the bowl and its junction with the shank supply the shape's decoration.

The vulcanite stem narrows gradually toward the bit, which distinguishes a tapered stem from the stepped profile of a saddle. Its fishtail mouthpiece broadens at the end into a flattened tip. This is a non-filter pipe.
