GOLDEN BREBBIA on the briar and M.P.B. BREBBIA on the metal band identify this compact sandblasted bent billiard. It is unsmoked new old stock, but it has a disclosed defect inside the mortise: a tiny scratch or crack beneath the band, recorded at intake as not visible from outside. That qualification is an essential part of this example's condition.
THE MAKER AND MARKS
The Faridunhill Brebbia reference cabinet records the firm's beginnings in 1947 at Bosco Grosso di Brebbia, with Enea Buzzi and Achille Savinelli. After their separation in 1953, Buzzi retained the Brebbia works and the M.P.B. identity became part of its history. The cabinet records M.P.B. among the earlier marks, before the later Brebbia branding. The letters on this pipe's band are therefore relevant to that history, but the band alone is not used here to assign an exact manufacturing date or to certify that every fitting is original.

THE SHAPE AND FINISH
The bowl rises from a rounded heel into the billiard profile, with a bent shank and a curved black saddle stem. The dark sandblast is relieved by reddish colour in the textured surface, while the broad bright band separates the stummel from the stem. The underside photographs show smoother wood reserved for the stamp, a useful contrast with the textured sides.
The stem is recorded as vulcanite with a P-Lip type bit and no filter. Its thicker base steps down to a narrower curved section, echoing the rise of the shank. At 128mm overall and 33g, the pipe has a short, light specification; those measurements describe this particular example without implying anything about the size of other Golden Brebbia pipes.
CONDITION - PLEASE READ
Unsmoked new old stock. The intake note specifically reports a tiny scratch or crack inside the mortise, under the metal band, not visible from the exterior. It has not been established whether this is a surface scratch or a crack, or whether any work has previously been done beneath the band. The defect is disclosed as recorded, with no claim that it is harmless. The photographs include the stem removed and close views of the marks; they should be considered together with this written disclosure.
