Gigi Collection Italia Concerto 959 Ebony Smooth Apple Pot Estate Pipe

GIGI COLLECTION ITALIA on one side of the shank, CONCERTO 959 and two registration numbers on the other. This is a Gigi Collection Italia Concerto 959, an ebony smooth apple pot with a vulcanite mouthpiece and a thin white acrylic band.

GIGI and COLLECTION are clear and ITALIA is faint; every line on the other side of the shank is clear, and a faint GIGI shows on the stem beside the white band.

THE MARKS

- GIGI, with a registered sign, on the shank
- COLLECTION / ITALIA on the shank
- CONCERTO on the shank
- 959 on the shank
- REGD. NUMBERS / 256267-386165 on the shank
- FILTRO 6 on the shank
- GIGI on the stem

The pipe is bent, and the bowl is round and full, wider than it is tall. An apple bowl is rounded like the fruit it is named after, while a pot keeps its chamber wide; this one carries both names. The thin white band sits in the stem near the shank end.

The finish is smooth and ebony black over the bowl and the shank, with a soft sheen rather than a high gloss.

No date is known for this pipe.

Condition: very good, with faint scratches around the briar.
