About this Piece
Fe-Ro in script on a smooth panel of the shank: this is a Fe-Ro straight billiard on a vulcanite tapered stem, with a metal band at the shank end.
The stem takes a 9mm filter and ends in a fishtail mouthpiece. The band has a knurled, cross-hatched surface. The Fe-Ro script reads clearly in the close-up. The pipe shows no sign of use, but it is listed as pre-smoked.

A billiard is the classic pipe shape: a bowl shaped like a cylinder, set on a straight shank. This bowl is 50 mm high and 38 mm wide around a chamber 20 mm across and 44 mm deep, and the vulcanite stem tapers from the band to the fishtail bit.
A sandblast is made by blowing grit at the bowl: the softer wood between the growth rings wears away first, and the harder rings stay behind as ridges. On this pipe the blast is craggy. The rim top is smooth, and so is the panel that carries the stamp.
Condition: no sign of use; listed as pre-smoked.
