This is an estate pipe stamped Denicotea Elite Rocket Bruyere Extra: a smooth-finished straight pot with a vulcanite saddle stem, a fishtail slot, and a 9mm filter chamber.

Denicotea was founded in 1932 by Willy Heineberg in Cologne, making filters, filter inserts, cigarette holders and pipes. After the Second World War the company's headquarters moved to Bergisch Gladbach, where the business continued under the Denicotea name, today operated together with Composing-Studio GmbH. Properly speaking, 'Denicotea' names the silica-gel filter system itself, not the pipe around it; the firm sold that filter across holders, care products, and pipes alike, and an Estonian advertisement from 1938 shows the brand was already reaching customers outside Germany before the war.

Most of Denicotea's pipes left the factory under invented, Italian-sounding names rather than the house mark: Adsorba, a fantasy line credited to Luigi Crugnola for the German market, or Aldo Morelli, a name that does not belong to any real pipe maker but was registered as a trademark in February 1992 and applied to pipes cut by Italian workshops such as Cesare Barontini, Gigi, or Molina. This pipe is stamped differently. It carries Denicotea's own name, followed by three grade words, Elite, Rocket, Bruyere Extra, stacked directly beneath it rather than one of those fictional line names standing in its place.

The bowl is described as a straight pot: a short, wide chamber with vertical walls and a flat-topped profile, sitting lower and broader than a billiard of comparable weight. A pot is built to give the tobacco a wide, shallow bed and an open draw, and it displays well upright on a rack rather than laid on its side. The stem is vulcanite, cut in a saddle profile that steps down from the shank before flaring back out toward the button, and it ends in a fishtail slot rather than a rounded tunnel bit. Behind that slot sits a 9mm filter chamber, which takes a standard charcoal or paper filter and changes both the draw and the cleaning routine compared with an unfiltered billiard or bulldog of the same size.

The finish is smooth, without sandblasting or rustication, so the surface of the briar is left bare rather than textured or masked under a dark stain. Beyond that, color and grain pattern are best judged from the photographs themselves.

Condition: pre-smoked estate pipe, graded good overall. Rough dents are present on the bottom of the bowl and along the rim.
