About this Piece
PRINCE OF WALES, LONDON MADE and REAL SANDBLASTED are stamped on the shank of this straight prince, a sandblasted pipe with an acrylic tapered stem, a fishtail mouthpiece and no filter. The shape can also be called an apple pot.
THE MARKS
- PRINCE OF WALES on the shank
- LONDON MADE on the shank
- REAL SANDBLASTED on the shank
- PR and a number ending in 15 on the shank; the middle figure is not clear in the photographs
A prince is a straight-shanked pipe with a low, rounded bowl. On this pipe the bowl is a little wider than it is high.
The sandblast covers the bowl and the shank, with ridges across the walls of the bowl, as the REAL SANDBLASTED stamp says. A tapered stem narrows evenly toward the mouthpiece with no step; this one is acrylic and ends in a fishtail, a mouthpiece that widens and flattens at the tip.
No maker history or date is given for this pipe.
Condition: pre-smoked, in very good condition.
