This reference example documents a smooth-finished bent large apple from Lorenzo, the Italian pipe house, produced within its Valgardena line and carrying the shape number 8750. The apple is among the classic rounded chamber forms of the pipemaker's repertoire, distinguished from the billiard by its fuller, more spherical bowl; in this rendering the form is executed at large scale with a bent stem, a configuration that lowers the bowl's carry and shifts weight toward the hand. The pipe is fitted with a 9mm filter system, a feature strongly associated with Continental European smoking practice and one that Lorenzo incorporated across much of its filtered production.
