Facts, not a grade. We do not score a pipe out of ten: a number would rank a restored pipe above an honest one, and restoration is exactly what this hobby prices down. Every line above is checkable by anyone holding the pipe. Lines marked Faridunhill standing declaration rest on our published, dated statement of shop practice (v1.0, 2026-07-29) — not on an inspection of this individual pipe. It is one document, in public, that you can hold us to.
A slim, light pipe of only 19 g (0.67 oz), signed in flowing script on the shank: Bruyere, with GARANTIE beneath.
This is a smooth straight cutty with a long vulcanite tapered stem and a fishtail bit. There is no filter. It is a pre-smoked estate pipe in very good condition.
THE MARKS - Bruyere, in script - GARANTIE
"Bruyere garantie" is French for "guaranteed briar": a promise that the bowl is cut from real briar. Many makers stamped it, so it names the wood rather than the workshop, and the pipe carries no maker's name of its own.
THE SHAPE A cutty is one of the oldest pipe forms, a small bowl that leans gently forward on a slender shank. This one keeps a light build: a small, narrow chamber of 16 mm (0.63 in) across, a slim shank and a long stem that tapers all the way to a fishtail bit, which flattens and widens at the tip for a comfortable rest. The briar is smooth.
Condition: pre-smoked, in very good condition. Please see the photographs, which show the pipe from every side, the chamber from above, the stem taken out and the stamp close up.
THE MEASUREMENTS - Length: 142 mm (5.59 in) - Bowl height: 36 mm (1.42 in) - Bowl width: 30 mm (1.18 in) - Chamber diameter: 16 mm (0.63 in) - Chamber depth: 31 mm (1.22 in) - Weight: 19 g (0.67 oz)

This record is append-only. Nothing is deleted — a correction is a new entry that supersedes the old one, and both stay visible.
Nobody leaves empty-handed. If you hold the catalogue page, the dated advertisement, or a hallmarked sibling that closes one of these — or simply own this model and can measure yours — send it in. Contributions are checked, credited to you by name, and the record is updated with the date it changed.
Faridunhill shop post, 2026-10-17. Published to a third-party platform on that date and archived since — a timestamp we cannot move. It is evidence that this object existed and looked like this, then.
The photographs are the identity. 10 images of this pipe's grain, stamping and stem are held as its fingerprint. The handle above is only a handle: lose it, and the pipe can still be matched back to this record from its grain.
