The “641” is a stocky bent Apple shape that puts a lot of briar in the walls of the bowl as well as the shank. To keep the visual balance in the profile, Savinelli incorporates a tapering stem design of equally robust proportions leading to the comfortably wide bit. It’s a particularly nice combination, especially when finished in a glossy contrast stain like this one — as the smooth polish accentuates all those bold curves.
