English Estates: Selected English Straight Grain Pot (423)by Comoy Pipe. Condition is “Used”. Shipped with USPS First Class.

Selected Straight Grain” is a stamping that can cause a lot of confusion, and I’ll lay that confusion squarely at Comoy’s feet. The problem, you see, is that they used this stamp for two very different grades; without a Comoy’s stamp, for a line of “seconds”, and with a Comoy’s stamp, for briars that were made for the Specimen grade, but that didn’t quite make the cut, and were sold as a series just below the famed Blue Riband.
